Do you work on residential and commercial properties?
Absolutely. We handle everything from home electrical repairs and upgrades to full commercial fit-outs. Whether you are a homeowner, landlord, or business owner, our team has the experience to get the job done safely and to code.

Solar

Can Banlec install solar panels on my home?

Yes. We install solar panels for both residential and commercial properties in Gladstone. We are accredited through the Clean Energy Council, which means our installations meet industry
standards and qualify for eligible government incentives. We work with quality brands including REC and Fronius.

What is a solar battery and do I need one?

A solar battery stores the excess energy your panels generate during the day so you can use it at night or during
cloudy weather. Whether you need one depends on your energy usage and goals. If you want to reduce your reliance on the grid further or have backup power during outages, a battery can be a worthwhile addition. We are happy to talk through the options with you.

How much can I save with solar in Gladstone?

Gladstone enjoys strong sunshine for much of the year, which makes solar a great investment. The exact savings depend on your system size, energy consumption, and whether you add battery storage. Many of our customers see significant reductions in their quarterly electricity bills. We can walk you through an estimate when you request a quote.

Air Conditioning

What air conditioning brands do you install?

We install systems from leading brands including Daikin, Panasonic, and Mitsubishi. These brands are known for reliability, energy efficiency, and performance in Queensland conditions. Our team can help you choose the right unit and size for your space.

Do you install ducted as well as split systems?

Yes. We install both split system air conditioners and ducted systems for homes and commercial premises. If you are unsure which is right for your property, we can assess your space and make a recommendation that suits your comfort needs and budget.

Are you licensed to handle refrigerants?

Yes. We hold an ARC (Australian Refrigeration Council) licence, which is required for anyone who works with refrigerant gases. This ensures all air conditioning work we carry out meets the required standards for safety and environmental compliance.

EV Chargers

Can Banlec install an EV charger at my home?

Yes. We install EV chargers for both homes and businesses in the Gladstone region. A dedicated home charger is
much faster than plugging into a standard power point and is the most convenient and cost-effective way to keep your electric vehicle topped up overnight.

Can I connect my EV charger to my solar system?

Yes, and this is one of the best ways to reduce your running costs. When your EV charger is connected to your solar system, you can charge your vehicle using free energy from the sun. We can design and install a setup that integrates your panels, battery storage, and EV charger to maximise the benefits.

Safety

What is an electrical safety inspection?

An electrical safety inspection involves a licensed electrician thoroughly checking the wiring, switchboards, power points, and other electrical components in your home or business to identify any faults, damage, or non-compliant work. It is particularly recommended for older properties, before buying or selling a home, or if you notice any signs of electrical problems such as flickering lights or tripping breakers.

What is thermal imaging and why is it useful?

Thermal imaging uses an infrared camera to detect heat anomalies in electrical systems that are invisible to the naked eye. Overloaded circuits, loose connections, and failing components all generate excess heat before they fail or cause a fire. By identifying these hotspots early, we can fix problems before they become dangerous or expensive. It is a non-invasive process and particularly valuable for commercial and industrial premises.

How often should I get my home electrically inspected?

As a general guide, it is a good idea to have your home inspected every few years, or sooner if your property is older, you are adding new appliances or circuits, or if you notice any warning signs like burning smells, warm outlets, or frequent tripped breakers. Rental properties have specific requirements under Queensland legislation, so landlords should seek advice to ensure compliance.
